Our Custom Molded Orthotic Devices are easy to use!
1) Immerse the appliance in boiling water for 15 seconds.
2) Allow to cool, until comfortable to the touch. (about 30 seconds)
3) Place the orthotic device in position beneath the foot, then using your fingers & the heel of your hand, mold the appliance th the contours of the patients foot. Pay particular attention to the longitudinal and metatarsal arch areas. (Feet Orthotics, Shoe Orthotics, Orthotic Inserts)
4) When the device has cooled to room temperature, it is ready to be placed in the patient's shoe for wearing.
5) If the device becomes uncomfortable, dip only the troublesome portion in boiling water and manipulate by hand.
6) When reheated, a device will return to its original shape and can be refitted.
7) The device may be used as a basic shell which you may alter, extend or impose on as needed. Leather, cork, foam rubber, etc can be added by the use of barge cement.
